Boot Camp for Kids

Tackling childhood obesity is the governments ‘prime objective’ and the national target ‘To halt, by 2010, the year on year increase in obesity among children under 11 in the context of a broader strategy to tackle obesity in the population as a whole’ has been set by the government in the Choosing Health White Paper 2004.

Quality Early Years is paramount for the building blocks to a healthy, active adulthood.

Parents and carers are primarily responsible for providing a foundation for their childs’ future. A healthy lifestyle requires awareness and action, two criteria not always available at home.
Combining and applying good nutritional awareness with an active lifestyle are vital to obesity prevention and management.

Making physical education available to early years foundation stage children is not only addressing the nationwide problem of under exercising, it’s also an opportunity to educate parents and carers in continuing activities at home with their children.

KO Sport are challenging this problem by providing fun, active and educational sporting activities to take place at schools, children’s centres and nurseries through a series of classes to run through school term time and/or during school holidays.

The sessions, which last between 30 and 60mins dependant upon age groups (optimum concentration times for age groups). The Children’s Boot camp captures the imagination of the participants as we lead them through a series of skills and techniques which have been incorporated into stories with characters. Boot camp classes are always fun, and energetic.
