Boot Camp for Adults
A boot camp is a fitness class that is based on military recruits training.
Our classes are 60 minutes of fitness training either indoors or outdoors. The classes will vary depending on the age and ability of the participants.
The classes are designed to improve the participants’ fitness levels, whilst toning up core areas and also helping encourage weight loss if required. However, please bear in mind, you will only get out of our sessions what you are prepared to put in. Work hard and you will see results.
Our classes consist of a warm up, main session and cool down.
Warm Up
The duration of the warm up is generally between 10 and 15 minutes long. The purpose of which is to get you breathing a little quicker and to loosen your muscles ready for the main session. The warm up may consist of jogging, dynamic stretches and simple exercises.
You should now be warmed up and ready to participate in the main session.
Main Session
This is where the tempo of the session is increased and where you should be sweating. Each session will be different but depending on the venue it’s likely that you will be jogging at a greater pace than the warm up. Core exercises will also be included whether that be in a circuit training approach for inside venues, or a more fluid approach for outside venues using park benches and kerbs as props.
At either venue the emphasis will be to tone and strengthen core areas, whilst burning some calories.
The class is meant to be demanding, regardless of your fitness level, otherwise what’s the point of going to a fitness class.
Cool Down
This part is equally as important as the warm up, which is designed to gently encourage your body to return to normal. So the pace of the session will be slower than the main session with time spent on stretching out the muscles worked, hopefully preventing muscle pain the following day.
